Sentence-Level Error – Control sentence-level error (grammar, punctuation, spelling).
At the beginning of the semester, I wrote on the notecard that was given to me by Prof. Brod and said that I need to work on word choice. Throughout the semester I dramatically improved my word choice and grammar. A great example of where I used very good word choice was in my second essay’s thesis statement.
2nd Essay thesis statement
In the yellow highlighted part I thought I used great examples and it flows really nicely with the words that I chose. Since my thesis statement was so strong, it really propelled my essay to the next level, because I had very organized ideas and that is mostly all due to word choice.
An example of where I changed the structure of a sentence in my third essay is attached below.
At first, I only had the first section of the sentence ending at “hatred”, but I added the second part of the sentence and it really got my point across. This took this paragraph to the next level just from changing the structure of one of my sentences.
